GTA San Andreas made me realize ghetto culture and black on black crime is fucking destroying African-Americans from within and that rap is ALL crap. It solidified my interest in classical, rock, metal, electro, synthwave, and basically anything not rap.

Fucked up part was that rap got big OG by talking shit about street and gangster stuff. Somehow it transitioned from that, to goofy party-time rap, to NWA and onward in the space of a decade.

yeah it sucks how the popular stuff is all lyrical garbage. i used to be big into hip-hop and then one day it was like a switch flipped on tolerating the gangsta shit. i still dig stuff like ATCQ and i know there's plenty of artists that ain't negative but man does the rest of it cast a shadow over that

Yeah. Tons. Guitar Hero got me into a shit ton of music. Free roam games that have radio stations got me innto a lot of music, as well. Saints Row got me into Minus the Bear, Liberty City Hardcore in GTAIV got me into hardcore and thrash, GTAV as shit of a game as it is got me into music across a wide variety of music across multiple genres, Brutal Legend got me into a lot of old school metal. I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting

I was kind of into it already but the Furi OST jumpstarted my love for synthwave and now I listen to carpenter brut every day
