No shit. Besides just the graphics, in terms of actual gameplay World/IB were also a lot more faithful to the franchise, the monsters were less robotic than previous games but were still designed with slower weapons and movement in mind. In Rise/Counterbreak every monster moves like it ate a pount of meth and somehow still manage to job to the hunter who nows has a gorillion iframes move in every single weapon for every situation. You play more reactively than anything else. If that trend continues this franchise is gonna have its combat turned into Dark Souls by gen 7. Monster Hunter isn't supposed to be reactive or as fast as Devil May Cry goddamit.

its been like that since the 3ds games, unironically holding back the immersive features and scale of the mainline console titles. same reason i never understand people saying shit like "hur MH has always looked like shit", like no maybe the ones you played did, MH1, dos and tri take a big fat shit on 3U and 4U in terms of textures, lighting and art direction

I'd rather have more manpower go into making more monsters to hunt and making the world feel more alive than shit like boob jiggle. Why's that even in the comparison?

this, the appeal of MH to me was that it was slow, weightly, and kind of "clunky". it wasnt some flashy weightless mushu wushu anime game, along with the more subdued and grounded art direction made me like the setting. those changes are the xact reason i dislike the 3ds games making the art style super colorful and silly, and gen/rise for changing the pace of the combat into anime counter hunter
