I don't see the issue with the GECK, it's not like there aren't vaults on the east coast. I think the main issue is none of the vaults we see on the east coast actually worked. There is no Vault City or Shady Sands actually built with the GECK.

I don't think Shandy Sands was build with a GECK. Yeah, Shandy Sands was founded in part by people from Vault 15, but there is no mention of a geck in Fo1, and in Fo2, they seem to clearly state that NCR was build by growing population and decent management.

Vault City was build with a geck, but things didn't go exactly smooth there either.

Of course, Bethesda has no creativity whatsoever so they just like to remake the exact same game over and over again for easy bucks.

No you can ask about it in the NCR in fallout 2 and they directly state their agriculture was jumpstarted by it as every Vault had one standard. What went right for Shady Sands compared to Vault City was Shady Sands didn't rely on their vault after leaving.

I know the "ghouls in space" is just some ESL cope but Fallout 2 literally had a group of people trying to go to space. In a cut ending they manage to make it to outer space but they all die. San Francisco was easily the worst part of Fallout 2. They should've cut it and had the PC fly to the oil rig on a Vertibird right after Navarro.
