Is this series maybe going to get a remaster for next-gen consoles? I wanted to play it to see what my late dad loved so much about it, but I honestly can't stand the terribly aged graphics.

You mean like using a new engine, Source 3?
FYI the number 3 does not exist in valve universe

there's a zero-percent chance of that, we might get a VR remake though. Graphics actually look surprisingly good for 2004 and you can run that shit at ungodly high fps so its not bad

Actually, the graphics of the Half-Life 2 screen are not that bad. You'll get used to it after an hour.
Half-Life 1's graphics are indeed poor, but you can go play the fan-made remake of the game "Black Mesa”
And you shouldn't give up on Half-Life 2 just because of the game graphics.
The modern FPS is not even 50% as interesting as Half-Life 2, and the graphics aren't really that great.

cool bait

Kys zoomie

Stop being a spoiled little bitch. Everyone thought half life 2 had great graphics in 2004

I understand this sentiment, but it barely upholds 30 fps and runs at something like 720p resolution, I understand 20 years ago it was okay, but it's really unbearable for me.

>We have now reached the point where Half-Life 2 is considered to have aged graphics
Jesus fucking christ. I started gaming with early 3D graphics. You have no idea how colossal those generational leaps were between 1990 and 2007. Half-Life 2 can stand on its own artistic merits and doesn't need to be caked in several layers of volumetric fog and poorly animated motion cap. How the fuck does it look dated to you?

What in God's name are you talking about? Are you playing the original Xbox port or something?

This shit runs 4k 300fps on a toaster, what?

It’s either totally bait or zoomers genuinely like the dogshit graphics we have now.

really?!?

Yes, I don't really have a gaming PC.

why is your dad late? just wait for him

user if it doesn't look like pastel-colored play-doh or unreal-plastic zoomers will not like it

I’d rather have the finished version of Artifact Foundry and the million-dollar tournament that Valve promised in March 2018.

Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

Just play it on PC.
Download MMOD and play the fucking game instead of whining about the graphics like a little girl.

I don't have a gaming PC, also will a game this old even work on a new laptop?

The game will run well on pretty much everything remotely modern.
It also runs flawlessly on modern systems because Valve kept updating it.
