I think the most fun I've ever had was playing Super Smash Bros. Melee as a elementary school kid. I had never even heard of Super Smash Bros. until then. Mario, Link, Kirby, and Samus being in the same game was the coolest shit ever to me. I first saw the game at a Blockbuster. The game was so bizarre with stages like Final Destination and Battlefield that blew my mind. Then there was the trophies, lottery event matches, and Break the Targets. No Smash game or game since has given me the same sense of wonder or mystery. That's large in part due to the trophies introducing to all the different video games I didn't know about and the bizarre aesthetic of Melee in general. Melee's Final Destination is still my favorite Final Destination out of all the Smash games.
