I find it incredibly weird that the Deck even has people against it, its the least offensive, most pro consumer device I've ever fucking had with almost everything I would want in a portable since I owned a GBA or a PSP.
Why wage a "war" against something actually fucking good? I think in the month + I've had my Steam Deck I already sunk more hours than I did in the first 2 years of owning a Switch.

Woudl you control for production wave, production location, etc? Who would gather the statistics and where would they be published? Literally just how would any of this happen?

The pictures video is about the guy having physically damaged his Steam Deck by letting something fall on top of the case it was in. It sucks that the case didn't protect it from whatever was dropped on it, but generally "it can potentially be destroyed by physical force" is not really a fixable design flaw.
