Depends on how much jap you want to learn. If you just want to learn functional written Jap so you can understand vidya. Worth it.
If you want to be able to read stories, kinda depends on the story but mostly yeah.
If you want to be able to understand cutscenes without subtitles. Meh, probably not.
There is some sort of curve where if something gets popular enough it will be dubbed or subbed anyway by people who probably love it more than you will ever will.
But between us the gigantuaur amount of hentai RPGmaker games out there, yeah probably worth.

It’s only worth it to meet Japanese people or live in Japan. There is more than enough multimedia, including games, in Japanese for it to be worth considering, but by the time you are fluent enough to access all the breadth of it, you will most likely have lost interest in most of it. So the language will be largely useless to you. That’s not even considering the certain alienation that comes with you living in one culture by day, and effectively living in another culture’s media by night, which you will do if you are learning Japanese.
