Thoughts on The Quarry?

It's just a garbage retread of until dawn, but with worse everything. Also the fake illusion of choice is already shattered right from the start. Exemple: it was obvious the redneck guys were like the hunter in until dawn, so during the part where what's his name is caught, i didn't do shit to free him, but oops it comes loose anyways and he gets to run as if i did the QTE shit.

I liked Until Dawn and this was a let down. really shit ending.

Still figuring out the morphs. I'm by no means good at this stuff.

Why the fuck is it so goddamn impossible to find any good werewolf transformations that aren't pointlessly gory? What the fuck is this obsession with the flesh sloughing off or having genitals explode into the wolf parts? Is it really too fucking much to just want something on par with American werewolf in London? It should be fucking easier to do these days than it was 41 years ago, goddamn. Especially in vidya since it wouldn't even be nearly as costly as painting up a person in latex over several staged shots.

It was okay for the first transformation maybe, but got a bit silly after a bit.
I'm guessing that they needed super quick transformations for story purposes and that's what they came up with.

that was probably the dumbest thing about it. if they were turned into permawolves it'd be whatever, go ahead and have your gore explosion, but it's just absurd having them turn back to a normal human after fucking exploding into a werewolf

And somehow regaining their clothing, too. Shit's almost anime in terms of how illogical it is. Not to mention it's kind of weird when the whole thing is inspired heavily by classic horror films, which were chock full of nudity, so not like anyone would complain if everyone was turning up naked when they revert

Don't really care for the skin ripping stuff either, but I guess it's not quite as stupid as the person changing leaving behind literal chunks of their flesh, meaning they have peeled copies of their faces just lying around wherever they transformed. Like, does that mean the human form just bursts out of a the wolf body when the moon sets? It's like nobody understands what made the grotesquery of the final BrundleFly transformation, how it was the literal end of humanity as the monster assumed its final form.

Yea, really is a shame that these guys can't do choices all that well. Even most of David rage in the Cage's games at least have SOME choice, even if there are plenty of railroad-y moments in those titles as well.
