Death Stranding (2023)

Is it worth going back to play Death Stranding in 2023, for someone who missed out on it at the time?

no. it was only relevant when it released and has aged horrible. you missed out on the magic moment we all had booting up the game for the first time and experiencing what kojima had to offer

There was no magic moment for Death Stranding. It kinda landed like a wet thud. Especially on Any Forums

the best game ever made

Play Death Stranding Classic if you want the historical experience with Monster Energy Drink and hookers.

It's comfy kino. If you aren't into slow-paced games and kojima-isms, you won't like it, but if you do, it's worth it. Take it slow.

"run around this empty beach while credits roll, then for a moment you sit down and get infodumped, then get up and repeat"
jesus fucking christ
all this after a bunch of one of the worst boss fights I have ever played, bunch of other retarded dialogue where everyone keeps repeating same shit
the story actually starts properly in the last third of the game, where you just get railroaded

first MGS games were a fluke
or he just didn't have enough influence on them

it has good ideas, the gameplay of walking is ironically the best part of it but everything else is a mess

I am not buying anything this hack makes ever again, maybe he should make use of his creative approach he taught himself of using the right part of brain then left side to realize he is retarded
this is made even worse by the fact that he acts and is praised like some kind of quirky auter by sony and celebs like Keighly because marketing

fuck you kojima, truly fuck you
abe didn't deserve it either

Honestly I think going back to it 4 years after release might be a better way to play it.
It's a lonely ass game about traveling a near empty world delivering packages. The beauty of Death Stranding comes from walking around that haunting, but beautiful, world to the gorgeous soundtrack doing your duty.
Playing it now when there's so few others playing is probably going to make it more poignant.

it's 2022
but yes, it's my game of the generation

Hello traveler from the future.
DS is one of the greatest games of the past decade. I'm so glad that I got to play it in the middle of the worst lockdown, as I could legit spend up to 12 hours in pure Zen.

DS and BotW represent the true next gen OW games in my opinion.

Yeah but I won't be able to play anything until January 2023 at the earliest, so...

unfortunately exactly when it turns from december 31 to january 1, 2023, the game will be outdated and not worth playing anymore. It's still okay for now though

>he didn’t play it during the first lockdowns
sry bro but you want be able to emulate that

I haven't played it yet either but I think you'd be fine. People will always be playing Kojima stuff you'll have cool things still be present.

If kojima wanted to make a non-violent game, why not make something like animal crossing or pokemon snap?

Taking pictures would be fun. There are ways to make fun non-violent games without them being walking simulators.

Oh well, I'll put that theory to the test and try it sometime between January and April 2023.

Yes

based

There is no sequel, it flopped.

no, it didn't. It made profit on PS4, yet alone on PC and the following Director's Cut releases.

Sequel has already been confirmed by Reedus.
