I'm actually more well adjusted than most would expect, same with the other people who I know irl who browsed Any Forums during the same time period, but that's more of a function of the quality of people on the internet. Pre roughly 2008 (which is when smart phone internet browsing started to hit critical mass) people who were on the internet a lot had to have a decent amount of resources at their disposal, especially during the time of 56k modems or else you would hold up the phone lan line and no one could call your house and your parents would kill you after they found out you covered the modem with all of the couch pillows you could find so they couldn't hear the dial up tone.
