Best villain that FF would have until Kefka, characters and story in general aren't impressive, but faaaar more nuanced and detailed than every other JRPG released at the time.
Uses a unique dialogue system to make NPCs more useful than normal.
Challenging if you find JRPG challenges to be lukewarm. The game can be broken if you think outside the box, but if you just power through it instead of grinding you'll encounter such bullshit as bosses from the previous dungeon being normal encounters.
