Top guy appears to have thumb on a button to switch on a laser. Mechanically speaking having the thumb on top should reduce recoil more than below. There is also a non magnified scope on an offset rail so thumb on top becomes normal grip when looking down that.

Negative. Hitting targets at a distance, you'll notice how much the weapon sways and moves. C clamp imo helps reduce that sway the most
