I guess it could be management game of sorts. You get notifications of kids gettings ready to sleep. Then you have to come up with a optimal route in real time, throw the sleepsand and move to another location. Sometimes there would be additional obstacles

And anyway yeah I'd fucking love some Telltale type shit for the Sandman as long as it's an alt-universe where our actions might prevent Dream's death.
It sorta is already by the Netflix adaptation. Anyway, I think the show was never going to do well regardless of casting because it's fucking Netflix. The promo poster alone lacks the strong mystic elements the comic art has so I want nothing to do with the show beyond seeing that.
