RE5

I remember hearing bad things about this when it came out but 13 years later it's still meme fuel and I'm still playing.
What is it about RE5's mercs that's endlessly entertaining?

i play mercs too, and its reaaally fun and entertaining

It's a really great game that scratches your itch for collection if you have OCD. It's even got some pretty decent horror sections and fantastic coop, plus the merc mode.
It's a meme, but much like BotW, it's a great game, but a terrible Resident Evil.

I didn't even know there was an end to the enemies until a friend online helped me get a perfect combo. Now I can do it by myself on some stages.

Good mechanics, great graphics, amazing PC performance for it's time of release, best co-op mechanics of any game ever.

Anyone tried the Switch version? I just got it and I'm pleasantly surprised. The performance isn't as good as PC of course but it's pretty damn good for a 360 port to switch. The only mode where the performance gets pretty rough is no mercy.

>C 'mon!
>I'D RATHER NOT

Anybody else notice the differences between the versions of Mercenaries over time?
The original version was really hard to kill all 150 enemies, I somehow always seem to have 149, like the last fucker gets stuck in a spawn point every time. But then they seemed to fix it a little bit with Reunion. And now all the versions have United which is like halfway between Reunion and the original version and is way easier to get a perfect combo.
Still not a fan that some of the enemy types they added for Reunion are part of United.

Some of the sections in the story mode are really bad though. Any parts where the enemies have guns are terrible and the gigante rail shooter boss is the absolute worst part of the game.

Is the AI partner permanently locked on dickhead mode for Professional difficulty? No matter how much you thank them you always have to call for help to get them to help when you're dying.

Yeah, they are pretty good up until Vet and Pro, then suddenly they ignore you when you need help.

I still think trying to clear a level in No Mercy Mercs in RE5 is the most fun any 3D RE game has ever been.

>like horror games
>dislike co-op
I do not like RE5 very much.

Shit gets absolutely mental when you're surrounded and quickly alternating grenade types and using rpgs on the large enemies.

the enemies are way less aggressive in reunion than the regular mode

>alternating grenade types and using rpgs
Sheva Tribal is an interesting challenge. The Nitrogen rounds are great for the mobs since you get a ton of easy melee kills for extra time. But the bow&arrow is a terrible weapon for dealing with the big mooks. In normal mode, you just kite the shit out of them. In No Mercy, there's a large risk of getting boxed in and wiped by one of them.

They are slightly less aggressive but spawn more quickly and attack in larger groups. So most of the time you're just getting grabbed from behind constantly.

Your best bet is to know what ammo type stuns that particular large enemy or try to stun them with a headshot which is pretty hard. Then you just pump them full of arrows while they're on their knees. Chainsaw and red executioners give me trouble but reapers are the worst with Tribal Sheva. Flash and Electric rounds work fairly well against them though.

being grabbed from behind does no damage

No it's just really annoying and eats up your time.
