Demon's Souls

I'm about to start a playthrough of this game, emulated. I've completed the Dark Souls Trilogy and Elden Ring. What am I in for, Any Forums?

It's like the original Dark Souls but actually good and not overrated meme garbage

A gay game.

Much of the same. Demon's Souls is less exploring a big world and more getting through levels from start to finish but it still looks nice.

'World tendency' is something to pay mind of if you want everything. It's pretty obscure to do without a guide but since you're playing offline anyway, it won't reset all the time.

easy and boredom with the worst fucking bosses ever

You can actually play online on emulator now

That's neat. World Tendency would be impossible then, since Fromsoft thought syncing it to a global average was a good idea.

the world tendency system ends up being really dumb, basically the only thing that matters is you dying in human form in a level, tanks your tendency, so if you want to ensure light tendency you have to suicide yourself in the level select hub every time you beat a boss and regain your human form.

A much, much easier experience.
Remember to go back to the Nexus to kill yourself after you defeat a boss.

It's a prototype of Dark Souls, and a bad one.

It has some shit levels and some good ones. Basically, only world 2 is shit if I remember correctly. The atmosphere of world 3 isn't really recaptured again in Dark Souls or Bloodborne. To be generous, there is one really shit boss in the game. Old monk was really original at the time

using a guide with "shiny gekkos" on it because these mf are elusive as fuck

it's fun. it's different than dark souls though.

the only real problem I have with it is the way the levels are laid out for each world. You have 2 normal levels with bosses, with third level being just a single arena for the final boss. ends up feeling kind of weirdly trunkated going to directly to another boss after beating the level 2.

Easy, barebones 5 hour long game.

every action you make determines how hard, or what drops you can get. I think the ps3 original is the best version.

Don't go in expecting a mindless action game like most of its successors
Demon's Souls had more adventure game elements, its best enjoyed slowly and without looking up guides.

>don't get get hit the game

Can someone explain this? Why not keep the extra hp?

Give me some advices, I'm stuck in tunnels with big bugs and in skeleton area after disgusting big tongue guy storms area or something.

you can't make quick xp off of the metal skeletons later. it's a long walk from the top. xp is pointless unless you accumulated a lot

you can *

I upgraded longsowrd as much as I can and STR END or something, wearing fluted set, big Red Shield.

World tendency means dying in real form makes the areas progressively harder

you can tell by how light or dark each stone is for every area

On a first run it's better to try have as much Light World Tendency as possible, you get that by defeating bosses and helping other people in pvp. Light Tendency gives you more life and makes difficulty a little easier, and of course, on max Light Tendency, you see the events and NPCs of each world and you can get their interactions that lead to unique items.
Dark World Tendency you get by dying outside of the Nexus, so if you defeat a boss and promptly die shortly after in the same world, the Tendency gained gets lost. The Darker the world gets, the harder it gets, new and stronger enemies appear, but there are better drops iirc.

upgrades

If that's 4-2, I remember getting ganked in a narrow corridor in that stage and I ended up summoning someone to beat it because I'm lazy.

there isn't any disadvantage unless you miss npcs

demon's souls is a great fucking game. You're in for it alright. don't let it filter you. it's hard of you don't know how to play it

Also, the endgame weapons scale with World Tendency

EZ mode

multiple endings

>in skeleton area after disgusting big tongue guy storms area or something.
Drop the area until you get the Thief Ring, that way the flying rays wont shoot at you.
Bearbugs are weak(er) to magic damage.

There's a ring you can find in 1-1 that makes the area after the big tongue guy (The Adjudicator) easier since you won't have to deal with the manta rays. Otherwise you might want to bring a bow.
The skeletons on the thin ledge are a bitch and you'll just have to try and deal with them one at a time. The game gives you plenty of basic upgrade materials (sharpstone and hardstone) so you can probably make a blunt weapon to deal more damage to them if you haven't already.
The bugs are weak to magic or blunt, but most of them can be avoided by kiting them out and going around them.

elden ring is demon's souls 2

Yeah, I usually do my first run in Souls games as a Knight Chad with the biggest weapon possible.
