Let's talk horror games my dudes
What horror games are you playing? or what was the most recent horror game you played?
I recently replayed Dead Space again still as fun as ever. I doubt the remake will hold up to it.

I've only been playing killer7 and Resident Evil Village.
remake looks good bro. I did actually replay re4 and got halfway through dead space 2. Very excited for Callisto Protocol, it looks epic. See ya OP! >Get Captcha?
Just got to chapter 7 in Dead Space 2 last night. It's...fine. I definitely prefer classic survival horror to action horror so this kind of gameplay will never match something like early Silent Hill or Fatal Frame for me, but it's okay I guess. Kinda feels somewhere between RE4 and RE5, whatever.
Does RE deserve to be the king of survival horror?
Diffreint strokes for diffreint folks I guess
I personally love almost all forms of horror games from classic adventure game styled horror games to more action heavy horror games
I think the only type of horror game I hate are walking sims like Layers of fear.
killer7's gameplay is pretty fun, don't see why some people don't like it
Team silent games are miles better
The puzzles are a little simple but it has a lot of depth to an on-rails shooter.
For me it's Fatal Frame, but REmake is one of the best in the genre to ever do it.
Most recent I played was Dead Space 2. Went into it expecting an action game like Any Forums said but imo it didn't replace the horror with action, rather added the action to the horror if that makes sense. The scares were more memorable too, the first time you encounter the giant undead chickens is amazingly creepy. Though yeah the first one had a more oppressive atmosphere and more iconic setting. Love the fuck outta this franchise for now, should i still play Dead Space 3 even though most people say it's dogshit?
Other than that i'm currently installing Darkwood, hope i'll like it
Dead Space 3 is kind of fun if you somehow find someone to play it with you
Just know it's basically worse then the first two games in every single way and EA dirty finger prints are all over it but if you get it super super cheap maybe play it
Also Darkwood is amazing bro. like one of the best horror games ever made kind of amazing hope you enjoy.
>what was the most recent horror game you played?
DEmake 3, it was ass and I'm not even an oldfag who played or cares about the original.
Is

Fucking
Nipple?
>Gore good
>Nipple bad
Yeah i heard the game requires an EA account or some shit which is absurd and fucking annoying, had the same problem trying to play ubisoft games. Guess i won't play it then , even if i play it with a friend. i fucking love dead space and its characters, don't want it to be ruined.
And good to know about Darkwood, i actually played it for a little bit a long time ago and i stopped cause it scared the shit out of me lmao, now that i'm used to horror i can finally experience it
Speaking of RE I recently replayed RE7 but this time I tried the DLC
I was kind of amazed by how good all the content was. it was like really well made and fun for what is just kind of mini games and side content shit. RE7 was already a game I liked and the DLC kind of boosted my like for it.
I had to set it to assist mode for the Birkin fight. I was losing my fucking mind trying to kill him with 100 rounds and a handgun.
Oh cool and the location of my screenshot is saved in the image. This is really not my day.
Rule of Rose is my favorite game and it bothers me that it's hard to recommend because the combat is really janky and the bosses are souls level difficult for no reason
Will FNAF ever go back to horror? or is doomed to become kiddy furry coomer shit for now on?
Kind of based. I liked RoR but yeah, it's a hard sell if you aren't willing to put up with jank combat.
I love Rule of Rose and hate it too since it does a lot of shit that I swear was designed just to piss you off
>That fucking section where this song wont stop playing.

Oh for sure, even with that said I still consider it to be a pinnacle of psychological horror both in gaming and outside of it. It's definitely up there with shutter island and other stuff like that.
I'm thinking about buying At Dead of Night; never played a point and click before but it looks aesthetic as fuck, and quite ambitious for p&c.
Other than that i don't have anything on my list, got any recommandations? Recent or not, i take everhting
It'll stay that way now
The games were never good anyways, people liked them because they had so much quality outside of the game itself
now that they botched the chance to become an actually respected game for coomer shit, we won't go back.
I think Tormented Souls is a great game. Wish it wouldn't keep crashing on my no save runs though.
It's probably one of the better expressed stories you'll find in vidya, good use of the unreliable narrator trope. Obviously was ahead of its time given both its reception and treatment.
Anybody else played this kino?
What is that fucking gif holy shit
Seconding this, it lacks presentation polish but it absolutely understands what made classic survival horror level design so compelling.
Please be good please be good please be good please be good please be good please be good please be good.
Was really surprised by how good Haunting Ground is. It's both kind of scary at times and also hilarious. Also Fiona a cute
I haven't played any of the FNAF games only playthrough, but yeah it's weird how the games tried to be creepier and creepier with every issue (at least from what i can tell) and mastering their concept and then the last one is a free roam puzzle that's never really scary.
I wanna try Sister Location some day, it looks like a good blend of classic fnaf with a little more gameplay and a great atmosphere.
