How is downloading a ROM off the internet any different than carjacking?

It's different because stealing is like when you get something that doesn't belong to you for free and downloading a rom is like .... wait... huh.... never mind

If I share a rom with a friend I still have my game, he just has one that he got for free. In the other scenario someone loses a car.

Rich fucks can just buy another car or deduct it from their taxes.

One, I'm not stealing anything physical, no one is losing anything. Two, buying games second hand is no different than stealing as far as Nintendo is concerned, so if buying second hand is fine then so is downloading roms

shut the fuck up op, honestly

wow a clickbait post on social media reposted here. this never happens at all, what a strange occurrence.

piracy of discontinued products is completely justifiable
you're not paying the developer, you're paying a neckbeard hoarder

it isn't, they're the exact same.
pirating from a big greedy evil publisher is morally fine
pirating from a genuine indie dev is morally wrong (corporate sponsored """"indie"""" devs need not apply)
stealing a car from the rich is morally fine
stealing a car from a poor person is not.

Cause I'm stealing from a giant megacorporation instead of another person.
