pitfall long running series has to dodge to stay good. Aoko didn't need an origin story. In fact, it actively damaged her character to give her one.
You do not need to explain everything. Not every character needs in depth backstory. Characters can just exist as they are and hints about who they were or how they came to be can be dropped throughout the stories by the character themselves and it significantly improves the story by leaving less important questions unanswered. Her short appearance in Tsukihime was all that was required. Meltan was perfectly fine as it gave her more screen time and characterization but didn't do anything unnecessary. mahoyo ruins all of it.
