>very simple mechanics
>over half of the jobs are just reskins of other jobs
>worthless story
>most of the gameplay is mindless grinding to level up skills and get to the next equipment tier
I don't get it, this sounds like a complete trash RPG on paper, but I still remember it fondly 7 years later
Very simple mechanics

It's a good example of how important art style and atmosphere is on a game. When these elements click, the rest is secondary.
Its a little thing called SOUL
youtu.be
The game was seriously soulful.
Also killing shit you were clearly not supposed to earlier on was fun.
It did what it did just well enough and in just the right amounts to be enjoyable. The world of the game also oozed with charm.
I really wanted a sequel that lived up to the original's potential.
art style looked so much better on the early DS trailers but glad it came out eventually anyways
This probably could've been top 5 game on the 3ds if the late game gameplay was just a bit more engaging
Too bad it had to be a FUCKING MOBILE GAME.
Seriously when I heard this game was getting a sequel I was so happy, then it turns out to be a shit mobile game.
I just want to be involved in the story as oppose to be a bystander that events happen around. I told Port Puerto governess that she shouldn't be a pirate the game invalidated my answer. When Yuelia at the end asked if the world was worth saving i told her no and she still saved it. Like why even ask me anything if everything is a foregone conclusion.
But i did like the game. Just not the story & lack of choices.
good music made the grinding relaxing
I found the dialog dragged on a bit too much. I just wanted to do chill grinding.
Those problems do indeed sound like pretty much every level 5 game ever made.
Level-5 was at their peak during the 3DS era. Shame what happened to them now...
The art style was only okay and the atmosphere was non existent. If anything, it's a testament to Level-5's game design. They took the "grinding materials progression" they'd been polishing from DQ9 and NnK and made it it's own game.
I loved this game so much, why the fuck don't people buy new IPs?
Blame it on Level-5's incompetence and greed
this game only had one good cunny
all they had to do was be the same game, but with more stuff, why does corporate fuck it up every time?
do any of the jobs allow you to go into an abyss?
This game really hurt my hands, but I did max out everything.
I don't know why. I guess I'm a sucker for da grindin game
That's Level 5's entire MO. Everything they create is designed from the ground up to be a multimedia IP and to be bled dry from conception as efficiently as possible. What makes it hurt more is that they have good ideas. The actual team needs to be removed from whatever businessmen are calling the shots.
What game is this?
I love Yuelia!
