Oh if you're playing the first game then you really have to enjoy the atmosphere, embrace socialising with your friends in a school setting and let the melancholy in. The second game can hold up as an RPG but the first game is.. really just for dedicated fans of the setting

I'm just failing explain it, the first game is very atmospheric and melancholic but as an RPG it's quite shallow, if you can immerse yourself in the setting then it's a very comfortable experience but if you're looking for a fairly indepth RPG then it could fall short of your expectations. The second game definitely feels like a well rounded game by comparison.
