Punishing Gray Raven is my favorite mobile game. 3D action combat.
Catalyst Black is a PvP top down shooter that encourages short play sessions. I enjoy it.
I also play Shinning Nikki, its a dress up game. Don't tell dad. If you like pretty outfits you know check it out.

I only ever play Mario 64 (emulated)
and SuperTux.
SuperTux Kart has a beautiful cross platform multiplayer mode that works and controls wonderfully on phone.
Punch Quest was amazing but they removed it from the store (you can find the .swf somewhere).
I never tried other freeware games like Battle for Wesnoth and Freeciv, but I did try Commander Genius, a fantastic port of Commander Keen.
Free Doom exists and the roguelike Wazhack also has a port, I find them barely playable.
3d Bear Adventure is rough around the edges but I liked it.
Dadish 2 was also very good and so was Super Dangerous Dungeons.
Remember Hearthstone, Genshin and Fortnite all have phone versions.
