1. Don't be afraid of enemies.
2. Learn to deflect.
3. Learn to dodgeroll too because some enemies cannot be parried.

Suffering is what I desire.

The real game starts on ng+

1. Hesitation is defeat
2. See 1

>What can I expect?
Boredom 3 hours in since it's a 2 button rhyhm game.

>What can I expect?
fun

Don't play it like souls. You need to keep the pressure going and not dodge like a sissy.

Don't think, don't observe or react
Just complete the QTE and then get excited for the next QTE

Refund and wait for the GOTC

Fight is a rhythm game. Also filtered.

be aggressive and attack until you get deflected
as a rule of thumb, big slow overhead slam attacks are better dodged than deflected
press jump again after jumping over a sweep attack

yet somehow it's fromsofts best game

>yet somehow it's fromsofts best game
Elden Ring, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 3 are

I beat the game in 4 sittings. If you're not a rhythm brainlet it's pretty easy.
Not exactly a high bar, user.

Ring the bell if you're not a pussy

Yeah, I believe you.

People only liked Sekiro because it's easy as fuck
Recycled content for a 15 hours rythm game with zero replayability and somehow less moveset than Elden Ring weapons

>4 sittings
what the fuck do you mean by that?
40 minutes? 40 hours? 80?

Shitty Simon Says combat
>somebody posted the webm

Are you stupid or ESL?

tell me how to convert sittings to hours

I wish Sekiro was good. Could have expanded upon the concept but the whole game feels like a tech demo
Better use of grapple, less but better prosthetics, a bunch of weapons with an actual organic moveset,...
Too bad because the sword clashing concept is nice, but all combat feels like an on rails QTE with zero player agency

i'm gonna give you advice on 2 of the bosses
for the ape stick your spear down his neck
for the ghost guy near the end confetti does nothing, don't waste it like I did

Confetti works on everybody. It just works even better on certain enemies.

1) The first skill you should get is mikiri counter, the second is ichimonji. Get them as fast as you can.
2) You can determine if you can continue to attack or if you need to start parrying by the different sound the swords make, when you need to start parrying the swords will make a different clang.
3) It's usually better to keep the pressure up and not retreat, the goal is not to fill the posture bar of the enemies, not to lower their life, although lowering their life allows you fill their posture bar faster.
4) Use your tools. Moreover use the right tool for the situation, some tools are super effective against certain enemies.

Don't play it like a souls game, take your time to learn the combat mechanics or you will hit a wall at some point (ogre, butterfly or genichiro usually).

>the goal is not to fill the posture bar of the enemies
*the goal is to fill the posture bar of the enemies

Ok I'm noticing a consensus here, thanks guys.
I'm looking forward to a different playstyle from Elden Ring, where even the tankiest players have to be cautious and hesitant.

Interesting, I don't usually bother with NG+but I'll keep this in mind.

I don't mind that, many games have very samey combat but are still fun.

I guess i'll be the first to actually answer his question.

1) unlock mikiri counter ASAP. Get breath of life light and ichimonji double as early as possible too.
2) buy spirit emblems often, stock up on them early as their sen cost increases with progression.
3) ignore dragonrot
4) remember you have infinite stamina
5) remember you can recover posture faster by blocking

Not sure what this means yet but I'll try I guess.

Thanks for sharing.

Good to know, thanks.

Thanks, I'll make a note.

Don't ring the bell your first playthrough.

Go play Nioh 2 instead OP.

Ring the bell you can throw away bell demon if it's too much.
