i read an article that the human eye cannot perceive resolutions higher then 1080

Give me the money to afford a video card that can play most games at 60fps and 4k. Until then I'll play at 60+fps on 1080p.

I have a 2060 so that's all I can do.

human eyes dont see in pixels so that article is retarded. people say in similar articles you cant see more than 75 fps too, are you believing those retaeds too?

I think 1080p is OK for up to about 24''. More than that only if the monitor is too far away from your face.
Up to 27'', I would say that 1440p is OK.
More than that, 4K.
In fact, the ideal would be for everyone to use 4K, but the problem: the resolution immediately smaller than 4K where you preserve the pixel aspect ratio is 1080p (if we are talking about 16:9). So if you don't have the hardware to play at a good frame rate at 4K, your only option in full screen is to downsize to 1080p if you want the game pixel to match the pixels on your monitor.

Not only do I, at the moment I'm being memed into staying at 1080p when I do actually get a new monitor for blur reduction

I play in 900p to get maximum FPS

>1080p
I'm playing old games over and over again. I buy new games and never even play them

I play in 480p

I exclusively play games in windowed mode, in resolutions lower than 1080p. My rig has four screens, and full screen modes tend to fuck around with it.

1080 is the default max for the majority of games I play so its not worth the headache. I just took the 144hz pill instead

damn i haven't seen this image in over a decade

lol what a dumbass

1440p exists

yup

>four screens
why?

I work from home, and have to juggle a lot of programs. Multiple screens is nicer than one or two huge (4k or ultra wide) ones. They're all arranged so that they form a quarter circle curve on my desk, that's located in the corner of my PC room. As such, whenever I need to change my focus, I just spin my computer chair a bit.
When I'm not working, it's a nice way to setup web browsing on one screen, gaming on another, and any media (movies, shows, music) on third. Fourth screen tends to be used for whatever I might need extra space for, if not powered off.
