I got a PS2 for 20 dollars that unfortunately does not work. Reads DVDs just fine, but when reading games, it freezes on a black screen.

I know this sounds retarded, but try putting it upside down. my old ps2 had this issue and for some reason it only played games while upside down. I've no idea what the actual cause was and it probably was just a temporary fix as it completely died later, but it lasted a few years like that.
