>Sprays are essentially disabled on Casual Mode; whilst players can still spray their images, other players will not be able to see them. The main way to see sprays in the game is via Community servers, though they are disabled by default and must be opted-in by the Advanced options menu.

Sprays were always disabled on casual, after someone said that people are spraying cp and shiet Valve disabled them by default everywhere without verifying if it was even true (they just wanted the community to shut up, they hate working on TF2 and consider it an old dead game)

Some tranny on Twitter started spreading a rumor that bots in casual were spreading sprays of CP onto people's computers (which is impossible because Valve servers already had sprays disabled) which made people freak out, so Valve turned them off by default and also cleared your spray folder when exiting the game.
Said tranny got outed as a groomer like a month later so you know they were just starting shit for attention too
