Anything over 60 you get used to and forget about in 30 minutes. I still notice pretty graphics on my 4k monitor however

1080@60 will forever be fine because games are slow and dull
I will go 144 Hz if Quake makes a comback in a big way

There is no real noticable difference between 60fps and 144fps
There is a noticable different between 1440p and 4k howeverm

4K monitors are a meme for vidya.
1440p is perfect. You only need 4K for work.

Yep, it's gamer time.

Cope

Why do Americans look like this?

He's a swede

t. has never played a game at 144 fps.

bait too obvious to hook any real (You)s

Yes. 4k is insane for everything else you use a computer for, and fantastic for 4:3 titles.

I'll upgrade to 144hz in a few years when 80" 8k monitors are cheap. No point upgrading the framerate for a stopgap like 4k.

I played mgsv on the smallest 16:9 resolution possible, think it was 576p

I'd rather play at 1440p 240hz than 4k. Gaming at 4k is not all that great. Not all modern games push 240fps mind you, but they do all go above 60 at least with a decent pc. Using 60hz is painful even for daily browsing.

Let me guess: you need "more"?

???

I will never play a game lower than 120fps.
t. have a 240hz monitor and will be getting 540hz soon

>1080p in 2022

literally third-worlder tier

1440@144 is ideal

60 fps to 144 fps is a way bigger visual improvement for me compared to the jump from 1440 to 4k res.

>When you're a Boomer who spent thousands of hours on 20 FPS N64 and PS1 games at awful resolutions
Stable 30 FPS is all I really want in a modern game, but honestly I've settled for worse if the gameplay is tight lol.

There is literally no point to a 4K monitor for 2D games. The only reason you would ever want higher resolutions is because you're playing a 3D game which contains subpixel details (eg. that little 6x2 blob of black pixels in the distance on a 1080p monitor becomes a 24x8 human silhouette)

For 2D there is simply no reason whatsoever, 1080p will be "retina" at a given distance and all of the game's information is reproduced on it with full detail
