Villain is evil because...they're just evil for the sake of it and want to destroy the world and hate everyone in it

>OP is gay because... he just is ok?

Why did you put Dagoth Ur there you nigger

>villain is evil because he's a metaphysical concept

That literally applies to none of them

>no option to side with the dragons and attain your true form while conquering the land under an iron fist with your dragon bros
TODDDDDDDDDD

Not every villain needs to be le ebin morally grey, brooding misunderstood. Sometimes a bad guy that's just bad for the sake of it is fun.

>a mustache twirling idiot with a fake scary voice who wants to level Morrowind
>some Satan ripoff who was summoned by cultists and talks with a fake scary voice and wants to destroy Cyrodiil
>giant evil generic dragon with an evil color palette and a fake scary voice who either wants to subjugate or destroy the world

Looking at it now TES has some of the worst villains in video game history that even a drunk George RR Martin or George Lucas could cook up something more believable and coherent.

>Dagoth Ur is angered by the betrayal of the tribunal
>Dagon through his failed invasion causes change on nirn
>Alduin has come to eat the world to start a new kalpa, continuing a cycle that has gone on for all of time
OP is a fag

Playing TES games for the main story is missing the point.

was it wrong of us to prevent the start of the next cycle in Skyrim?

Their motivations are a lot more complex than that. It's just not really explored outside of in game books and lore.

isn't the entire goal of hinduism or buddhism to break the cycle?

Muh moral grayness and sad sobby backstory

>the main story has to be read like something written by a child on purpose

You’re wrong on Alduin. The entire conflict with him in Skyrim is because he ISN’T there to do his damn job of eating the current kalpa. He got too arrogant and decided he’ll take over everything, so the Dragonborn is basically Akatosh smacking Alduin upside the head and telling him to leave till it’s time to actually do his job.

to break your personal cycle of reincarnation through enlightenment is the goal of Buddhism yeah

It's denying the natural course of the world, I don't know if it was right or wrong though

Bug people games do this all the time, but nobody ever complains. Weebs are the fucking worst.

The natural course of the world sucks. Hence why the entire point of the mortal realm is to escape it.

i swear i remember hinduism having something similar but maybe i'm wrong, isn't there a whole thing about embodying a hindu god as an avatar or something?

Why does anime live rent free in your head?

>applying human morality to otherworldly beings
your first mistake

Skyrim could've ended with a Thalmor victory and dragons devouring half of the continent it wouldn't matter with the next installment which would set the level of technology and sapient advancement back to another age. I guarantee you something like a dragon or Stormcloak or the Empire itself or Talos will seem like fairytales and myth.

would have been an interesting direction to take the series honestly

The goal of hinduism is to achieve moksha and escape the cycles of samsara. Buddhism actually spun out of hinduism iirc.

I will never get over the fact that TES has some of the most interesting and unique lore of any video game series out there, and nobody knows about it or cares because the surface level writing is DOG SHIT. I could write a goddamn novel on the civil war in Skyrim and the history behind each side, and it would be completely pointless because all most players ever see is HURR DURR LUV NORDS 'ATE ELVES SIMPLE AS and MUH FIGHTING AGAINST EMPIRE BAD.

oh yeah moksha that's what i was trying to remember, thanks user

What's his name again?
