people are hiding links to porn in metadata blocks of images because they can't go 15 seconds without edging. supposedly once or twice someone has embedded links to child porn, hence the current paranoia
the idea that because Any Forums strips EXIF it strips all metadata is a misconception. depending on the file format it's in a completely different block, which is how people are able to embed these links in PNGs, for example
