It has caused a lot of friction between those who liked it and those who didnt. The direction he has taken the lore means AVP as a concept is a much more difficult to implement, outside of comics maybe.
This as well, I replayed the level where you got the spear ALOT, it was a shame you couldnt use it in a kind of new game + system. That being said I dont know how such a system would work for the Marine or Xeno campaigns
