Yes it was

Was better than Bloody Palace Simulator 4.
But 5 makes both games irrelevant.

Thats because games are shit now. for a western release this game is a masterpiece.

It had interesting ideas but generally piss-poor execution

No it really was the worst game with this franchise's name on it. Even DMC2 is better because it at least added ideas and features that were later perfected in DMC3 and DMC4.

DmC did nothing but take away and shit it's own pants.

>now
Western AAA has been garbage for the past 15 years

DmC actually added alot of cool ideas and mechanics that made it into DMC5. DMC2 did nothing, maybe added rebellion i guess?

>being this new

It's better than DMC2 but most will still disagree.

Who would disagree with this

>wow you can shoot your guns in opposite directions
That's it. thats all dmc2 contributed.

fanboys

It was
>Shit game
>9 years have passed
>hurr durr shit suddenly became good
Fuck off retard
>2 dodge button
>dt on l3 and r3
>NO TAUNT BUTTON
Everytime

it's pretty bad.

I actually really liked it, the boss battles were also a highlight for me.

Not in a million sales.
A shame really, I love impossible landscapes

>DMC2 did nothing, maybe added rebellion i guess?
>Literally a ground for trickster and gunslinger
>realtime weapon switch
>bloody palace
Nigger do you even play the series?

>we would've gotten DmC 2 if microsoft didnt buy Ninja Theory.
Thanks Microsoft.

If they called it literally anything else it would go down as a pretty good hack n slash.

But trying to replace devil may cry with an "ok" product while also insulting the old characters and fanbase at every chance you get is just marketing suicide.

Also air combos, instant weapon switches, arguably layed the groundwork for Sin DT. I'm sure theres something else I'm missing too

ideas like special moves that don't require lock on
weapon switch on d-pad and holding triggers for weapons.
Having a sequel to improve on the mechanics would be fair, since you're trying to use that as some kind of praise for DMC2, lol.
Oh yeah, Disable BP timer and Must Style mode were new ideas too.
And unlisted moves like gun-charge stocking

The groundwork for sin DT was done in DMC1 when at the end of the game you literally devil trigger into Sparda.
