1) You can get 95% of the games that will be on PS5 on one of the other consoles or PC. The only reason to own one is the handful of Sony exclusives, most of which are made to appeal to the western market now.
2) Censorship and outright blocking Japanese games on the platform.
3) Chip shortages and scummy Sony practices caused a slow adoption rate of the PS5.
4) They dropped their handheld line.
5) Japan prefers Switch and Nintendo.
