It is pretty lame there was no disco music.

It's an alternate fantasy universe, but disco being dead is a constant.

Disco Elysium is set in a post-disco dystopia

Sucks. Overproduced trash.

>censors "faggot"

Returned, faggot

When's the last time a game didn't? Like honest question, I heard it in GTAV but that's been ages ago at this point

It died with the revolution

Not really no, and it's kind of weird that I didn't notice that until you pointed it out
feet

Disco is dead in the game's timeframe isn't it? Kind of fits in with the idea of not letting go of the past

It isn't something you hear. It's something you feel.

Are they disco?

It didn't have Matt Damon or Exoskeletons either.

Disco came after the Revolution, in the decade known as The New when everything seemed to be improving and was the best time of Harry's life

Which is why he makes so many references to disco. And why it's in the title. It's the perfect representation of the good old days he clings to that are never coming back, for him or Revachol.

Disco is also in the title because the world is made of pockets of landmass with large swathes of Pale between them, leaving the planet looking like an old, damaged disco ball with most of the mirror plates fallen off. It's a disco post-apocalypse and a post-disco apocalypse.

Why haven't you read Pynchon yet, Any Forums?

>fucked up the Authority check and got what I should have expected from authority
Honestly if I knew the risks were so high I wouldn't have taken it.

Authority's a fucking psycho when he fails a check

Well yeah he's literally the fash, not as an insult just in a literal sense.

Isn't Elysium actually a flat Earth? Or that in-universe evidence from Joyce suggests that?

Anyone else get a strange sense of melancholy and nostalgia from this track?

I know what dialogue with Joyce you're talking about, I had interpreted it originally as the isolas being in a spherical arrangement, from the line "The images are blurry, but if there was a sphere in there it certainly looks like it fractured a long time ago."
To keep my metaphor going if I had read that wrong, the remaining isolas are the mirrors that have fallen off the disco ball. After the dialogue from Joyce, one of the skills but I forget which one does also say something along the lines of "it's all Disco, baby." It probably contains some degree of meaning.
