Dodge Offset, baby.

Restarting or using items drastically reduces your score. You can maybe restart a stage twice before you risk falling below bronze. Also make sure to go back and find all the remaining verses in each stage since they're an opportunity to raise your score. Also when all else fails, Wicked Weaves are always the best and most efficient attacks.
don't worry about the ranks if it's your first run
learn dodge offset
this
and this
Just have fun and learn some strings. Experiment with dodge offset if you want. You're going to do terribly your first run and its a good thing
Restarting after dying. If you restart from a checkpoint in the Pause Menu you suffer no penalty.
Also, dodge offset and don't worry about ranks until you finish the game.
dodge offset and if you die alt-F4 before it autosaves on the game over screen
you're always going to get stone awards on your first playthrough of platinum games, it makes it satisfying to go back through them and get high tier awards
dont worry about your score the first time.
Funny story. I came out with some cool tech for bayo when the PC version dropped that console players never use. so cool it made its way around the community and that made this nigger create this video lmao
Favorite weapon combo?
What 'tech' is that?
so it's all about that one mechanic? dang
i suck with all of them and i think i missed the wip but i like the sword and the fire claws on the feet do a lotta damage
don't bother, it's a waste of your time!
what does a better grade give you? nothing!
>locking a weapon behind 100 chapter clears
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING??
>what does a better grade give you?
hearing bayonetta's sexy voice (bc i play it in japanese)
Anyone else not give a fuck about your score in action games like this? I just play through the game once and then replay on higher difficulties if they're unlocked and find items hidden in the levels if I missed any.
Yoshesque made that video before the PC port came out.
Sai Fung is such a fun weapon, though. It almost makes up for all the grinding.
Yeah the game is designed around that one mechanic and it becomes more important on later difficulties. I wish other action games copied it cause it's probably the best innovation in the genre since dmc1 invented the genre.
>bc i play it in japanese
But hellena's voice is the original voice you dumb tranny.
Dodge offset is good because it works so well with hold attacks and wicked weaves. MGR and Nier have the mechanic too but it's less fun there because combos matter in the same way (Transformers does it ok though)
*combos don't matter
I don't remember the mechanic being in mgr or nier at all. Those games barely had combos to begin with. The fuck would be the use of dodge offset.
Sure you did, user
>stone awards
who cares about score autism. the trick to PPing the game is the whip grab and not doing anything actually technical btw.
It's about the Offset mechanic, not necessarily dodge. Dodge is just the easiest way of applying it. You can Offset with dodge, Panther Within, accessory, taunt, Umbran Spear, etc.
>whip grab a flaming enemy
>get hit
it's over...
Severance Blade of Darkness is more complex than DMC1 and came out in feb of 2001.
I'm sorry but have you heard this woman's voice?
