Barlog being so hands-off for this one is gonna be a mixed blessing. It's bad because he's the reason the 2018 one was so well put together, and it's good because he's gone off his fucking rocker since then.
But overall my hopes and expectations are quite low. Look at the fuckers on the project. Look at them. The guy who I thank God not to be every day that I wake up in my own body is part of the writing team for fuck's sake.

Yeah, this is true. I still would like more of the same for that gameplay, with some tweaks and additions and of course new enemies. I think this game will deliver on the game side of things.
It's the story I'm expecting to be disappointed by.

This meme always ignores the fact that the only reason he ever came back in the first place was because primordial deities always helped him. Not once did he ever cheat death on his own.

It'll probably be a fine game but like almost every sequel these days it'll probably just feel like a continuation of the last one with extremely similar gameplay and functions.

I know I'm in the minority here but I really liked the last one and liked the way it ended and I kind of don't even want a sequel.

Your point? There are multiple pantheons of gods to help him now. There is no narrative reason they can't keep bringing him back.

This is my most anticipated game this year, possibly of all time. I am however concerned that there won't be a trilogy - there's so much that was hinted at in the last game I can't help but think this will feel rushed somewhat. We need to fight Odin, Thor, Freya, find Tyr, have Loki story explained, along with Surtr, Fenrir, Jormumgandr vs Thor needing to happen. The game will reportedly be about 40 hours long but we'll see.

All the times he did actually die, he only got out of the underworld because gods pulled him out. In the first game is was Zeus. In 2 is was Gaia. He never died in 3.

all this powerlevelwank and lore justification ignores the main point. in the pervious games he came back because he was the protagonist. this time he wont, because the crux of the story is passing the torch to Atreus. its that simple.

Kratos doesn't actually kill Thor or Odyn and they become friends, Kratos dies at the end and Atreus goes after Anubis
