Pixar have been using RT since Toy Story. Without GPU acceleration RT rendering takes a long fucking time.

Epic is obviously in cahoots with hardware vendors. Since UE3 their engine is planned obsolence incarnation, so that even most barebones things made with their shitty engines require expensive setups.

They all contract to use Unreal Engine and only embarrass themselves with buggy 30fps pop in games.
