i dont care about epic partnership, talk about the game

I dunno. Loved the first one but they made this one EGS exclusive so I never played it.

>talk about the game
Epic.

I'm waiting for it to be finished before I played.
Uninstalled the first after ragequitting yesterday because the collector fucked up my new run 3 dungeons in.
Reinstalling tonight.

Hate the new combat style

It felt like I had nothing to play for after unlocking the stories/abilities for all classes. I don't like the roguelite style for long term play. Not sure if they will find a way to make it have more longevity after the beta, I hope they do but I can't think of what would work.

It was still enjoyable for 30 hours though.

I'm here to bump this thread because I think DD threads are really comfy. Here, have a meme

Tried out DD2
It's shit.
I didn't expect it to be THAT bad. The entire game is worse than beta versions of DD1. A lot to explain but this game is plain bad. Core game progression is just so wrong I can't believe it.
Animations and setting are still pretty cool though but that's the only good things about it.

Post your go to teams and mods
For me, it's Arbalest-Houndmaster-Occultist-Bounty Hunter
Moddingwise Vestal-Succubus-Bounty Hunter-Bounty Hunter (bonus points if you name them Mario and Luigi)
I also love the Monk and Slayer, and the Falconer is growing on me. Don't see the point of the Reaver though, and I want to love the Exorcist but he seems underpowered to me

Can't talk about the game BECAUSE it's Epic. I'll never play it even when its not Epic exclusive anymore. Once chink always chink.

Dungeon crawl: The classic vestal plague doctor dismas and reynauld
Boss drungeon: musketeer occultist houndmaster and bounty hunter
The idea is that the occultist marks the boss first turn and the other 3 melt it while the occultist gives out the occasional heal, disruption with tentacle, etc.

I like the updated character looks and animations plus bringing back the VO from the first game is good. But thats all the positive ill give it. The new caravan mechanic is shit, the relationship thing sucks, Since the entire thing is now based around completing the trip with the same 4 characters or you start over is terrible. And even if the characters look and animate better im worried that it will really increase the floor to modding in new characters that really added a lot more to the 1st.

I'll just wait for the beta to end.
I'm playing King Arthur's Knight Tale and it's the same kind of aftercare management between missions, it's cool.

Vestal-plague-highwayman-crusader has zero synergy aside from all being solid heroes, and your boss team is pretty similar to mine
Have you tried any mods?

3 of them stun, plague stuns 2, which means I can first turn stun the whole enemy team, leaving highwayman free to do whatever the fuck he feels like doing.

You can stun everyone with plague and hellion if you really feel like it, and they have bleed synergy if you run incision

It's fun but there are no real consequences to losing a run, you always make progress in some way. In the first game you could go to the Weald, get assblasted by diseases, have 2 characters die forever and lose all the money you used to buy supplies and that made me more invested in getting good.
Still, the graphics and the soundtrack are great and the sound design is very good too.

True, but I'm a vanilla bitch and I luv me dismas and reynauld.
There are definetly better teams for normal dungeons though, what do you suggest? I'd guess someone that can heal bleed and blight like PD can be very useful in medium and long dungeons.

It's all about prep. Bring bleed for weald and warrens, and blight for cove and ruins. Figure out a game strategy and pair heroes up based on it. Want to tag and bag with mark? Bounty hunter, arbalest/musketeer, houndmaster, whatever classes have boosted damage to marked enemies. Want to do the same but mix in blight? Shieldbreaker, grave robber, plague doctor. Be sure to have one way to heal and one way to destress. No, crits are not a way to destress.

Crits are absolutely a way to destress if you bring enough crit-heavy classes who hit several enemies at once, like Hellion.

I don’t know why they even made this game. First game didn’t even need a sequel. It felt like a one and done thing. If they wanted to, they should’ve just kept making more dlc for the first game.

From that I recall they didn’t even want to make a sequel. They wanted to make an entirely different game. So I’m not sure what happened that made them change their minds.
