I'm replaying KOTOR 2, but it's been a while. What's the best order to visit the various planets in the game, Any Forums?

I don't have an answer for you OP, but I'm also replaying II. I love the game and have replayed it many times, but the beginning always leaves me thinking how they could have done it better. I understand what they were going for. Peragus is meant to set the tone and get you comfortable with combat, while Telos Station is meant to get you acquainted with dialogue and questing... But something always feels off about it and I genuinely dont know how it could have been improved. Having Peragus first means you're forced to slog through hours of combat when combat is arguably at it's most boring because you have little to no abilities yet, which causes a lot of people to quit before really giving the game a chance. But if they put Telos first, people would still quit because it's a slog of basic tutorial quests and dialogue. At least if Telos was first, Peragus might have been more interesting because at least you'd have a few abilities to mix up the combat. But at the same time, I don't think many newcomers would last that long with how sparse combat is on Telos. I don't know, food for thought. Anyway, thanks for reading my blog

If you know how to build a lightsaber without also triggering the exchange, do Nar Shadaa first.
If you dont, do Dantooine first

Depends what build you're going for. If blasters, don't come to Alderaan tomorrow. If lightsabers, kill yourself.

Dxun/Onderon, Dantooine, Onderon part 2, Nar Shaddaa, Korriban is my preferred order.

There's no real best order. I think the traditional wisdom has always been Nar Shaddaa first Korriban last but I actually have had great runs doing other orders. It's even more subjective with TSLRCM because unlike vanilla where Nar Shaddaa is always the fastest route to a lightsaber (especially in dark side runs), Dantooine and Dxun are arguably just as fast because they added a 2nd part to each world. You can even bounce in the middle of planets, too if you want. Only Dxun locks you in immediately.

There's cool little things on every planet too that might make you want to visit later instead of first, like you get some different dialogue from people on Dantooine if they see you have a lightsaber equipped, or if you saved the Thorium charges from Korriban or got them at all on Dantooine you can open the Mandalorian cache on Dxun or the Sith instructor's quarters or vice versa having both at once before you head to Dxun.

There's a lot of subtle advantages to all combinations OP, what kind of build are you going for?

I unironically like Peragus and going to the Citadel after for a lot of down time is what I really like about the beginning of the game. I'm in a huge minority but I think Telos Citadel is comfy.

I always do Dantooine, Nar Shadaa, Onderon, Korriban, then finish Onderon

Like peragus and telos i think

>Nar Shaddaa
>Dxun/Onderon Part 1
>Dantooine
>Onderon/Dxun Part 2
>Korriban

Find what you're looking for amongst the dead?
You read this in my voice.

Hear me out on this. I loved the dialogue. The atmosphere. The monologues from Kreia. I loved how it was darker in tone compared to KoTOR 1. But am I the only one who despised the fact that Kreia was basically front and center for the whole game? She may as well as have been the second protagonist. Or maybe the protagonist herself. Like a black hole from which no other entity could escape her event horizon. Her warnings to the Exile on Nihilus as well as her diatribe to the three Jedi masters in the Enclave were masterclasses. They're two instances in which writing and VA meld together to form perfect harmonious pieces of beauty.

But Kreia herself is like this bottomless maw that never shuts up throughout the game. She is this double-edged sword of a character. I wanted to Knights of the Old Republic, not Kreia Of the Old Republic. You literally cannot move an inch within the game without Kreia not harping on you. And yeah, I guess that's the actual point of the story, but then maybe that shouldn't have been the crux of the story to begin with if it was going to be such a saturated, recurring interaction. She's constantly hanging over you, cock-blocking you, nagging you, both angel and devil.

Imagine if Carth was literally on either shoulder of Revan throughout the ENTIRETY of KoTOR 1. That's what it's like for me whenever I play KoTOR 2. She's a good character, but she takes up too much of it. Like Chris Avellone's personal mouthpiece or something. His own walking, talking, self-insert, gender-bent, deconstructionist mouthpiece to which all the other characters must acquiesce. And it all culminates in what is essentially a feminist motif with Kreia lecturing three Jedi masters like a bunch a mother and her children in the Enclave.
No, this is not copypasta

I've done a lot of playthroughs and Peragus manages to stay pretty fun for me, but Telos has managed to become a drag. Though, I imagine that is because in part I always savescum the Duros shop guy's inventory hard because you can get excellent shit that's useful the entire game, it's just a bore to keep resolving. But the quest line with the Ithorians and Czerka is actually torture at this point. I quite like the surface portion of Telos though.

I love the Citadel and Nar Shaddaa both. The music is great too.

Visas best waifu.

I think it works. Kreia is the Exile’s self-appointed “master”, so it makes sense that you have to answer to her. Even when I played the game as a kid, I realised that she was meant to fill in the “Obi-Wan” role that was seen in both the OT and the Prequels. Her confrontation with Sion on the Harbinger even feels like a parallel to Obi-Wan vs Vader in ANH with the only difference being that she just loses a limb instead of getting killed.

This is kind of a “no shit Sherlock” observation, but most of party members in KOTOR 2 are meant to be a parallel to either an OT or PT main character (Atton is Han Solo, HK-47 is C3PO, Kreia is a mix of Obi-Wan and Prequel Palpatine). I think GOTO and Bao-Dur are the only ones who doesn’t feel at least partially inspired by a pre-existing SW character.

If Kreia was cute and had a pleasant voice Kotor 2 would literally be the best RPG of all time.

>implying Sara Kestelman’s voice isn’t earsex

NGMI.

Nar Shadaa and Korriban last, otherwise doesn't really matter. Most people like Dantooine first for YOURNAME crystal but I'd rather Onderon.

1. Nar Shadda
2. Dantoonie (kill Vrook)
3. Dxun
4. Korriban
5. Oderon civl war
6. Endgame

I despise Peragus and really liked Telos as a mini Taris

What befit is there to doing a planet inbetween Dxun and Onderon? Mandalore doesn’t even join your party until you depart for Onderon.
