The news organization found out about it because of a lawsuit for a hostile work environment. They sued saying Good Smile made them do, among other things, shill Nenodroids on red boards and they had to see gore and porn all day every day when their job was to sell toys. This all came out in discovery. Hiro signed contracts with the head of Good Smile regarding site ownership like a week after he officially owned it.
