why do you think you should be able to play with one weapon the whole game when nintendo put in the effort to implement 127 weapons?
Why do you think you should be able to play with one weapon the whole game when nintendo put in the effort to implement...
how many unique weapon move sets are there though
>should be able
Already did with mods. Still a garbage game.
You didn't beat the game.
5 at a stretch
If you NEED to play the game by just waving a single blade at enemies, then BotW is not for you. Better go play casual hack and slash shit like Elden Ring instead.
>break the game
>complain it's bad
Never was gonna make it in the first place.
>user mods his games to play them wrong
sasuga
I really don't understand the absolute vitriol people have for weapon/item durability in games.
This. ER with breakable unrepairable weapons would have brought it up to a 7/10 for me.
>effort
>just reskins
Breakable weapons exist to enable the weapon treadmill so the game can activate your neurons over and over again when you see the small number become the big number.
BotW is very barebones and relies heavily on psychological shenanigans to get away with its more low effort design decisions. The measures it took to debloat itself let it style on modern openworld games that are absolutely crippled by how much unnecessary crap they have to include for the marketing.
Those weapons are for other players.
I got the one I like, they got the one they like, there's variety in the types because different people play different ways
If Nintendo is scared of everyone using the same weapon and having the same gameplay experience, that's a balance problem that they themselves have created.
Alright I rolled with your rather asinine point, time for the actual answer
Weapons break to make sure the player always needs more weapons.
The Zelda series has a long standing problem finding mid tier rewards to give to the player for completing side content. They've got Pieces of Heart, and rupees, but doling out so many rupees made players find them worthless.
Weapons breaking is a band-aid for this. The designers now always have something that the player actually needs to use as a reward for completing content.
It's a brilliant design, not gonna lie.
I'm usually against breaking weapons design, but in games like BotW and STALKER, they absolutely improve the game.
Not to mention casual hacking and slashing enemies should be one of the last things you waste your time in BotW. The various Sheik tools + interactive, physics and elements controlled world provide a fun playground to experiment with.
>plays the game like a retard
>gets retarded results
many such cases!
>eightfold blade
>is useable eight times
Okay then.
I don't get how people can still complain about weapon durability in botw after playing elden ring. Only explanation I can really think of are retards who waifu weapons.
This pretty much. I find they are the same people who watch that tranny fest that is AGDQ and have a twitch account.
I think that negative player emotional response, as indicated by the number of people who whine about it, is too much of an offset for the benefit, and they should have retooled the reward structure into a progressive upgrade system instead.
You'd still want to do everything to get all the upgrades, but now your weapons wouldn't disintegrate.
With the number weapon types, weapon tiers, and subtiers made by silver/gold enhancements, I think they could easily fill out the side content for the world size they have.
That system just would have taken more planing, which is probably why it wasn't done.
So who copied who here? I know DMC5 was pretty terrible but surely they didn't stoop so low that they copied literal chink shit.
why do you think you should be able to post shitty threads on Any Forums shilling for a game mechanic that is hated by the majority and that isn't worth salvaging in the first place?
devil may cry invented swinging a sword
god I love playing as cute anime girls
I am a superior PC gamer and have thus used cheats to remove the durability mechanic, as well as used graphics mods to make the game look better than the Switch. You are an ant under my boot.
>hated by the majority
So was Jesus, what's your point? Consumers can be wrong, just like how they are regularly wrong about souls games with their "this needs an easy mode ):" whining
genshin impact invented picking berries? Wtf i hate miyamoto now
is there any reason to play botw over genshin?
In what way would Elden Ring be an argument for weapon durability when every weapon in that game is viable?
>127 weapons
lol. Every game that has "SOOOO MANY WEAPONS" In reality has 5-10
shame how they ripped off everything except botw's better traits (combat and world interactivity)
literally two completely different games
>606925635
>255x198
jesus was a cult leader who retarded people have bought into for centuries. Not saying I know how the universe was created, but I've read the bible and it ain't that.
I play on PC as well, but unlike you I didn't get filtered by the based weapon durability. I only play upscaled with graphical enhancements, while keeping all of the gameplay intact, as it should be since it's perfect.
You think you're shitting on Genshin but all you're doing is prove that BotW doesn't deserve its $50 price tag.
Everything chinks produce is derivative and unironically better.
Both botw and genchink are shit
>get 100 weapons
>don't give a fuck about the next one because I already got the best one
>keep doing dungeon anyway
>still get shit I don't give a fuck about
>play NG+
>zero reason to get any weapon
>playthrough becomes 10 hours only
>no reason to use any of them aside from autistically using all of them for the sake of using them
every weapon in elden ring is viable
every weapon in botw is a necessity
If it was perfect, it wouldn't have annoyed me enough to remove it. Annoyed is not the same as filtered
