The s version would be the best pad ever if they added an L1 and R1 in a decent position.

I played the Duke in a gaming store back in the day and honestly I don't see the problem with the size, even little me way back then liked the heft of the thing, it was a substantial controller.

it's not one of those things where it looks bad but works well, it's full blown "no one uses dpads for main gameplay anymore so let's go wild making it a complete piece of shit" sabotage

Absurdly huge, probably the worst D-pad ever conceived by man outside of wacky mad catz controllers, the fucking black and white buttons.

Those buttons used to make my thumbs tender after hours of playing (the curve was too steep). The D-Pad was also borderline useless.

Luckily there were very few 2d games on it

everything about the console borders on fever-dream retardation but that d-pad really drives it home with just how little thought was put into it

I went from Dreamcast buttons lacerating my thumb to mildly uncomfortable Xbox buttons so they seemed like heaven
