Imagine a world where these three faggots didn't take over Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy came to mean that you make each game like its your last. You hold nothing back for sequels because this is it. No asset flipping, no milking, no cash grab sequels to games that had finished endings. Look at what they did immediately when Sakaguchi was ousted.

What's the actual story behind the development of this movie anyway? I've always had the impression Sakaguchi was hanging around with Hollywood adjacent people when Square had their CGI studio in LA staffed with artists from the movie industry and somehow got the delusion in his head that he could hack it as an actual film director. That's just conjecture based on reading a lot of old magazine articles at the time though, I don't know how true it is.
