Oblivion.
Because it showed major publishers that you can start selling skins, in payed game, feature that used to be free, and it would be extremely profitable.
>OoT-->GTA
Mario 64 because without there’s no ocarina of time & gaming’s jump to 3D would have stagnated and never taken off.
I've never even heard of some of these.
>Influenced by: Nothing
Sigh, snoys and their deranged conspiracy theories believing the whole internet is wrong but them and their hiveminded unsubstantiated delusions
Although some of these are shit, they did give birth to better games and some of my favorite ones. So the phrase x walked so y can run applies here.
OoT listed as influencing Soul Reaver is an example of the sort of basic idiocy that’s accepted as fact in gaming, Soul Reaver was in development before OoT released.
>Yu-No
Oh come on, it's a fucking visual novel, nobody needed to be influenced by anyone to make visual novels.
>Influenced by real world philosophical ideals
This list is just bait
> The branching timeline system was influential, opening "the door for visual novels to become more elaborate and have a greater range of narrative arcs, without requiring the player to replay the game over and over again."[48] It also featured the time loop concept,[52] and an isekai in its final story arc,[53] which has a use of what later became a common anime trope by the 2010s.
Yu-No was responsible for multiple routes, so that’s like every visual novel ever at this point. Various vn’s were responsible for huge anime adaptations, it also popularized the isekai genre and time loops as a theme. So the entire anime & visual novel industry today is because of Yu-No. no other singular title had such impact
>Everyone is lying except me!!!
Yep it’s a mass conspiracy, everyone that manages data on the internet is secretly manipulating information & forging quotes and citations because of personal bias against Any Forums beliefs
According to this list, platformers don't exist.
>Ultima Underworld: The Stigma Abyss
never even heard of this shit
Zoomers all need to be banned and exiled to solitary confinment
Influential to people who actually make games.
Stop discoursing with zoomers, they are literally clinically retarded and mentally ill schizophrenics
I have no dog in this horse, but is there a quote that says it was an influence?
Not going to spoonfeed you, nu-Any Forums and nu-/vr/ are the only places on the internet that have a autistic seething meltdown and conspiracy against Ocarina of Time and try to retroactively deny any impact or acclaim it had.
Dunno why ICO is there, the rest...I got no real issue with the ones I know.
Kinda weird SMB or Tetris arent there though.
True, Tetris spawned so many different versions. Some other influential games I can think of would be, Diablo, Super Mario Bros, Minecraft has mostly cringe imitators (except Terraria), PUBG, Metroid and Castlevania, and the MUDs leading to MMOs. Honorable mention to Chess as a non-video game that spawned and influenced video games.
Unironically this. Oblivion set the standard for the shitty mtx practices that basically invented modern mobile gaming, and a good chunk of console and pc games too.
>Richard Garriott created Ultima Underworld
>System Shock influenced by doom
Whoever made this is retarded.
