About to play this for the first time. Does it need a newer version of ScummVM? I noticed the one that comes with it is outdated.

It'll work fine with the one it comes with.
I was too dumb to beat this game
Just take notes user if my stupid ass could beat it so can you.
realMYST: Masterpiece Edition is better
It's not better it's just different.
fuck that slider puzzle
Myst thread?
I was stuck on the train puzzle for 45 mins before I just decided to go right over and over and somehow that worked? I still don't understand that one.
I ended up just making a map and brute forcing it myself. There is a 'proper' way to do it but it's a little obtuse, so it's nice that it isn't mandatory otherwise a lot more peop5would have been stuck I think
The 1st game is ez
but I admit I got filtered by Riven
The remake is on sale, do I buy it?
How's the VR edition. Should my first play through be in vr?
>filtered by Riven
same
at some point you get into that place inside the big ball building
after that i never played it again
I didn't like it very much, the environments were nice but the character models are fucking horrendous. You can use the original videos instead for most of the game bit the ending still has the shit models. Stick with OG ME or RealMyst ME
Thanks!
they fixed it when it was revealed the new character models were also FMVs so they can be switched with the OG FMVs
MystVR is still very much an amateurish experience.
I almost got filtered by Riven until I remembered the single hint an user gave me like a year before I played it when I was asking if it was good in a thread.
Genuinely would of never checked behind the doors without that hint, what the fuck were the devs thinking.
Dare you play le dark soul of Myst clones?
The 2021 "VR" remake is actually pretty great. You can replace the shitty cg models now that they patched it and you don't need to use VR to play it. The og and realmyst are still better though but it's still worth checking out.
>the levers in the clock tower
fucking evil ass devs
>didn't know this existed for 27 years
>can't stop hearing about it for the past month
Why does something like this happen? It's so absurd
at least they never did it again in any of the following games
meant for Also, Riven's better. Exile's good.
That rock you're under must be really comfy.
2bh Myst isnt that cryptic, much better than Lucasarts point and clicks, those have at least 1 or 2 bullshit puzzles I had to look up a solution for
I remember being stuck for a while in the hub area right at the beginning because I had no idea what the waystones or whatever did and then as soon as I was able to teleport to the first area it became Elmo's Shape Match Adventure in Preschool Land. I've never seen a game like this become so basic so quickly.
