PS4 is the best way to play it. Honestly TLOU1 is legit a great game. A solid 8/10. It's just getting hard to associate that with the dog shit sequel and this absolute insult to the original.

Do these games have a cover system? If it does it looks so much more natural and smoother than the Gears of War games. Those games are comical in how you slide in and out of cover.

Yes and no.
Your guy "takes cover" automatically behind whatever you crouch and walk up to, and when you press the aim button you pop up above the cover to aim and duck back down when you let go.

The gameplay itself is very fun if you're into stealth gameplay at all. It shines in the multiplayer mode against human players, which is why it's a damn shame that 2 didn't include multiplayer (but has way better AI than 1)
The people that complain about the story do so because of how much of it you can't skip on subsequent playthroughs, like max payne 3 but worse. (but 2 also kinda solves this by having an "Encounters" mode that just takes you from enemy encounter to enemy encounter, but you have to have beaten the story on the difficulty you wanna play it on)
Overall I recommend the last of us games if you've never played them, even if you end up hating the story.
