I have Doom Eternal still in its' plastic, I just 100%'ed Elden Ring and was thinking about playing Eternal next. I have Red Dead 2, Yakuza 7, Doom Eternal, and Cyberpunk 2077 all to play still. Which one should I play next?
I've heard people say Eternal may be one of the best FPS's of all time. Hyperbole or no?

I played Doom 2016 and I don't remember much about it anymore, but I do remember by the end it was all starting to feel very same-y. Like every level felt similar. Does Eternal feel different than that?

Yes and no, I guess. Eternal is an extension of 2016 for obvious reasons but it does add a lot of new mechanics and spaces them out to help keep things fresh.

Visually Eternal is more diverse, but yeah the core combat is pretty much the same with some slightly better arena design and platforming. Still worth playing imo.

I'm a 35yo boomer who has Doom as the first game I ever played on PC and I love the series more then any, including Doom 3, until today I only now 1 person who despise it, a consolefag snoy movie simulator lover who hate any game that require any amount of skill or even uninterrupted gameplay without a cutscene after every 5 quick time events, I'm very glad this kind of human garbage is the only I ever knew to dilike it
I can guarantee a lot of weebs don't like it too for the simple far of not being made by Japanese people and that put a smile on my face

97 zoomer here, on E3 level 4, nightmare. I really feel stupid punching pinkies most the time, either I use the shotgun on too many scrubs or on too many bullet sponges. And yes, I am humping every wall I can find.
Feels nice to glide around and shoot stuff however, and the enemy AI just primitive enough to be fair to kite but smart enough to not just stand still 24/7.
Curious on the consensus on 64, I hear a lot of people shit on it but it looks competent.
