you should ask that to fromsoft

cool, there was no mountain range behind that windmill but alright.

I always thought that the areas between major zones were truncated and you were just supposed to assume you were going further away than you were.

cause on the "map" they have in Majula that windmill is way further away from the ironkeep, and the map is supposed to be miles and miles from each object.

The devs just lazily made the connection while cobbling the game together without taking into consideration the fact that said connection would be nonsensical

Will Any Forums ever stop swallowing From turds like Reddit and Resetera does it?

I always thought Drangleic was like a fantasy dream land anyways so i wasnt trying to nitpick the geography.

Seeing as the opening cutscene has you falling through a hole to a different dimension or something, i can suspend my disbelief over iron keep

FPBP

No need for headcanons when it has been proven that the layout is nonsensical.

No and you can't make us.

The layout making no sense actually makes sense. The theme of the game is loss of memory, and you don't remember the ways you take between areas.

I'm taking bait, but you tell me faggot.

Is this Elden Ring? I can't even fucking tell these games apart anymore

Pretty much this, if From made it foggy as shit behind the building then maybe we could believe OP's pic. DS2 is better than most of the games in the series, but yeah the geography of the game is all sorts of fucked up.

This. You can clearly see it when traversing from Majula to Heide, the tower is many miles away on the hitbox and yet you reach it almost instantly. There are other such instances in the game too. Traversing between locations is DS2 is clearly supposed to symbolise your character going on a longer journey to reach their destination that just wasn't shown

That being said, the windmill still feels wonky and while the image in the OP would make sense, there is no such mountain visible directly behind the windmill

It's fucking stupid and you fags only defend it to be contrarian.

*skybox

Isn't the big ass bull off to the side in the mountains? It still doesn't sense that you get there from the windmill but can't you at least see it from the windmill area?

>why is ds2 bad
>BECAUSE THE MAP DOESNT MAKE SENSE!!!!!!!!!!! I WATCHED A STREAMER PLAY IT AND IT WAS SO STUPID I SPAMMED OMEGALUL WHEN MR STREAMER WENT TO IRON KEEP!!!!!
>ok? what about the gameplay
>uhhhhhhhhh

dark souls 2: still the best

>better than most of the games in the series
I literally just replayed the series this week. I dont see how it can be defended. Maybe because I am playing vanilla? I've heard Scholar is just worse in different ways.

You mean the broken deadzone? The horrible controls? The many, many broken hitboxes?

we call that "soul" here, bucko

nodevs are worthless

The gameplay is awful man. The enemy variety is low, drop rates are abysmal (how many of you knew the Varangianians drop a unique long range shortbow), iframes being tied to a stat, tons of gang squads, poorly level design like Amana, Brightstone, Grave, Iron Keep etc, and I could keep going.

I will give the game credit for having incredible weapon variety, playstyles, and lots of items for niche situations.
