Stop being so entitled.
Stop being so entitled
I say we keel this nigga
Why do I care what happens to this fat retard. How the fuck is this my problem? Maybe if this basedbearded T deficient faggot would spend more time fixing his shitty shooter mmo garbage then he wouldn't get death threats. God I've never seen bigger wastes of oxygen than people like this. I guarantee he has had 4 covid shots
Then make something that isn't a putrid pile of shit
why the fuck should anyone be excited about a microtransaction platform like the division 2
this is only a problem if you make a shit game, so just don't do that
The Division 2 was fucking shit but imagine being enough of a fucking sad case that you take the time to send a death threat to a dev because "muh vidya wasn't good enough"
I wish gamers were entitled. Backlash used to scare devs. A successful game would have a billion patches and new levels to appease the vengeful gamer gods for the crime of hubris in making too much money off a game you and your friends made pissing around before starting on the 'real' project. The demo alone would give you a blowjob and milkshake.
If the game is shitty and filled with microtransaction bullshit of course people are going to be mad. I don't think you should get death threats for releasing a shitty game though.
>launch shitty game with shit features
>people call you out on it
OH I'M SO VICTIMIZED GAMERS ARE HITLER
DEATH THREATS OVER THE INTERNET ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS
As a gamer, playing a new game should be the most exciting part, but leftist agendas and cancel culture makes it a horrid experience for any of us who are public about what we love in games.
I've received death threads in the past for playing Dead or Alive.
It's unacceptable.
Nobody should be recieiving death threats over a video game, so by all means these companies should legally take action against those lunatics who send targetted death threats because their sword get nerfed or whatever shit. But in a wider sense, game devs receive harassment in the same way service/retail people receive harassment from the general public. Everyone just accepts that it's empty threats and to let it roll off your back, so why can't you?
TL;DR: Death threats are never okay, but Game Devs need to learn to filter out the obviously garbage noise instead of making EVERYTHING a mountain out of a molehill. If we had an industry comprised of Phil FIsh's we'd never get anything done.
this is 100% why i dont use social media
t. AAA studio employee
Make shit game
People hate it
Make good game
People love it
Simple as.
>this is 100% why i dont use social media
Fair. Death threats are serious but will you admit that most devs in the industry love to take any chance and generlising and bitching about "GAMERS"
Death threats are legit cringe. Imagine sending them to grunts who didn't even make the decisions you hate or for example to VAs voicing characters you dislike.,
It's a mutually toxic relationship.
AAA devs demonstrate nothing but absolute contempt for their audience, through predatory business practices and the way they communicate with their players.
Players, in turn, interpret all communication from devs with total cynicism, target any individual developers who make themselves visible, and act with a deranged fanaticism because their garbage bing bing wahoo franchise is slightly shittier than it was last year.
Developers, in turn, feel even more justified in bleeding out customers like stuck pigs and crying that they're the real victim.
Don't worry though, the economy is collapsing soon so nobody will be able to afford buying or making AAA games anyway.
>make good game
>someone on the team does something inocous as nerfing a weapon in a balance patch
>suddenly some weirdo has been camping outside the studio for three days and making threats on twitter
People are fucked in the head regardless.
I am the consumer. You are literally attempting to cater to me.
Don't. Problem solved
confirmation bias, they focus only on the few toxic ones, while the majority doesnt even care that much and isnt vocal. if you have millions of people playing your game and 1-2 of them send you death threats then it literally means that the majority of gamers is moderate and fine.
Don't make shit and you won't receive deaf threats.
Also
>online threats
lmao
acceptable
>>make good game
This is about dervision.
>won't receive deaf threats
They're unheard of.
>In a lawsuit filed last week, Bungie claims that the Twitch streamer "Luca Leone" who also goes by the Twitter handle "inkcel" has created 13 different Bungie accounts despite being hardware-banned from playing Destiny 2 for using cheat software.
>"Leone has now made thirteen separate accounts in his attempts to evade the ban, and each new account was therefore a separate breach of the LSLA."
>In addition, Leone has also been harassing and threatening Bungie and its employees on several different occasions online, warning Bungie to keep its "doors locked" after moving to Washington where Bungie has its HQ. "I just realized I'll be moving to a place that's 30 minutes away from dmg [Dylan Gafner, Community Manager at Bungie]," Leone said in one of his tweets.
>"Leone has also repeatedly made threats targeting Bungie and its employees, tweeting about his desire to "burn down" Bungie's office building and declaring that specific Bungie employees were "not safe" given Leone's intent to move into their neighborhood."
LMAO
boo hoo, bitch
>It's unacceptable
Changing shit with patches will always rub me the wrong way. Im not going to threaten someones life over it but I can relate to them more than people that are just okay with constant balancing patches.
>but will you admit that most devs in the industry love to take any chance and generlising and bitching about "GAMERS"
It's not just this industry. It's the new thing to pretend to be a victim of ANYTHING. Somehow that makes you entitled to success and fame. Like when your gf suddenly starts crying in an argument she loses, she wins because she is the victim now.
And being a victim of social media death threads is the easiest shit ever because you can just fake them yourself and have a new strawman to push every agenda you want now.
I've received death threats here for posting Sneed. He needs to man up.
>use social media
>cry when people interact with you
lmao how tf is cyberbullying real nigga just look away from the screen
imagine being a fully grown adult man and then crying
>BOO HOO INTERNET GAMER MAN MEAN TO ME ON BIRD SITE
Who's this faggot and why should i care
user it's like 15 seconds tops to send someone a message that says "I'm going to kill you."
Nah he's completely right. Pretty much zero devs respect gamers because they know jack shit about making games but are always trying to tell devs what to do.
>not harassing a shitty dev so he gets spooked and leaves the industry, never to poison another game with his awful ideas again
Can you even call yourself a gamer?
"I received death thread" is a shield that leftists use to deflect all criticism. It never works.
>camping outside the studio for three days
this is the made up part, in reality people are just talking shit, which terminally online people such as yourself cannot grasp
LMAO
hope all the basedbearded childless 35ish millenials who work there shit in their pants everytime they walk out to their tesla at night
You don't need to know how to develop a game to know its shitty and unfun full of predatory microtransactions you faggot shill.
I hate to say that I kind of agree with this. I thought I had developed the most S tier game design philosophy just from playing games. Now that I am making one holy fuck its so much harder than I imagined. Things I would think like "just make x an enjoyable experience" are so fucking far from easy to do.
