This made boomers shit their pants in 2003

guys i don't think half-life 2 is going to run on my 486
BOTW has worse physics and tendies are still shitting their pants because of it.
It hasn't been topped since, what's your point
Boomers would have been in their 60's in the 2000's learn how generations work and stop posting this shit. Zoomer faggot!
>Remember when game companies were making huge strides in tech
>Well guess what that's bad stupid boomer
HL:Alyx has better physics than this shit
So it has been topped.
yea but its portable
And?
You can play HL2 on your phone
>$1000 device runs game better than $200 device
wow
>z00mers pissed and cummed and shitted they/them pants over this
idk what this is
This is a demo that some user posted a few days ago in a gamedev thread
Kill yourself you retard
Most likely a millennial generation-bating. Any time I see a gen zer talk about old games i only hear praises.
>2003 introduces physics
>half of the games today dont even have physics and the other half have inferior low calculation ones
I really thought we would be able to shoot a brick to dust by now. how naive I was
>blessed
cursed
Looks neat, is it his some map he's making in source?
Teardown exists
It's not realistic, but it's physics is incredible
Zoomers aren't even that young anymore. You're most likely talking about gen alpha, retard.
>yea but its portable
its VR
Now everybody down at McDonnellzzz
They down with Ronnell McDonnell
And now they hitting the bottle
And everybody cool!
It makes me shit my pants right now. Wonder why most games don't do anything with physics interactions.
>still no game that uses this tech
youtube.com
rent free holy shit
I can only think of that game and rdr2 in recent times
Honestly idk, AFAIK it's just a Gmod map that he converted to his OpenGL engine or something like that
still does desu
I hate botw because its a barren desert but I dont think these are comparable. In HF2 you have very limited and controlled environments with scripted moments where the engine is designed to show itself off.
In BOTW, while there are a few moments like this, overall the impressiveness comes from the openess and creativity it allows. It's the real version of "You see that mountain? You can climb it"
Stay mad
they're not incredible though, you have half a good engine but theres zero weight to anything in the game so to completely collapse a building you have to punch holes in a perfect ring around the structure. I like the game but to call it incredible is silly. Red Faction Guerilla came out in like 2006 and had psychics with weight and gravity.
>I hate botw because its a barren desert
Lol
It was the mattress that did it for me
>overall the impressiveness comes from the openess and creativity it allows
The shrines are no more open than any level from HL2.
Yes, first things happen for the first time.
There's nothing alpha about them
the fact that every object in the game world had physics made the world feel really alive.
have you guys noticed that game worlds recently just feel stale and static. still cant interact with most objects and it feels like they keep decreasing the objects that have physics on them
It might be time to upgrade.
I was watching this demo last week or so in a different thread, and yeah, it's pretty impressive.
red factions guerilla still the best game for this i have played it several times.
