what exactly is the point of buying AMD GPUs?
What exactly is the point of buying AMD GPUs?
To complain about citra performance.
Any new GPU.
There isen't the last "graphics" game was cyberpunk and that's a mess.
Next year gaming will be hit with the photogrammetry meme.
Expect anything under a 1080ti and 8gb VRAM to become obsolete.
No the games won't be good and gamer's will have to accept they are now black in everything.
Freedom
they work good under lunix and are typically stronger for GPGPU workloads.
for gaming on windows though nvidia is often jsut the better overall package.
amd drivers for windows are still terrible after all this time.
the linux drivers are open source and mostly made by the community and are miles better than the proprietary ones.
there isn't one user. don't do it.
explain
similar performance for less money, but with better VRAM pools.
Decent drivers on Gnu/Linux. There are not many reasons as for why you should get one in case you're on windows. The RX580 was pretty good for its time, but nowadays the RX6XXX series just isn't delivering
They work on my machine.
This. Nvidia's drivers are junk and closed source.
Good for Linux, bad for Windows
Drivers were shit in the mid 2000s and I'm hearing they're still shit
Might have trouble with older games and emulators
Intel's ARC series is probably going to be like AMD but worse
>what exactly is the point of buying AMD GPUs?
Linux, but the overwhelming majority of people buying AMD GPUs aren't using Linux so they're just retarded.
To display images on the screen, produced via calls to various apis, with varying level of smoothness.
So you can have the fun experience of having your drivers and games crash non-stop.
If you're strapped for cash and can't a proper GPU brands, like Nvidia.
You don't like your drivers crashing while playing a game?
What are you, casual?
Nvidia is proven to crash more than AMD. Driver memes are pure FUD.
>but nowadays the RX6XXX series just isn't delivering
que?
Linux
that's it
every other reply is cope and buyers remorse
t. actual AMD GPU owner
lmao literally never had a nvidia driver crash on me in 6 years
guess what gpu i had before that, and guess how often it crashed?
lol opengl
People always said that Nvidia was the king at emulation on Windows because of OpenGL but AMD is now beating it???
How about actual applications and games people use.
I'd get one if I jump to Linux. Depending on Intel's support for Arc.
que?
AMD is worse at data compression though so it almost balances out.
>the linux drivers are open source and mostly made by the community and are miles better than the proprietary ones
it's wild how AMD performance on linux is better than windows even when the game has to run via a compatibility layer
AMD back in 2016 had an excuse to have shitty windows drivers but now it just really shows they don't give a fuck
price
linux
not supporting the illegitimate state of israel
3dmark
my favorite game
guys?????
Show emulator benchmarks then.
It doesn't mean anything if the benchmarks are other applications when we are talking about emulation.
i really wanted to get behind amd but after all the 5700xt issues it'll be a long ass time before i try them again
Linux and poorfags unironically.
Not even shitting on poorfags, Nvidia is the Apple of GPUs.
>different benchmark version
at least almost sounds believable
now you're just pretending that 6800xt has a better performance than a 3090
hello????
Wow awesome game user.
Also AMD sucks for ray tracing and 3d render apps like blender.
oh nice Any Forums is raiding us again
how do you benchmark emulators when nobody uses the same nightly build
I got RE2 and DMC5 with mine but got cucked at Switch emulation
1080p lol!
Show some games at 4k with ray tracing maxed.
I am waiting...
hello hello????
