Thins isn’t sonic.

even the worst Sonic game has 100000000000000x more soul than whatever the fuck those two things are

>I can't get over how fucking pathetic of an attempt this was at a videogame series

-A Call of Duty fan

1 is good
2 sucks mostly for its open world attempt
3 is okay
X is good but could've been great with online multiplayer

>ditched the soulful Jak and Daxter in favor of realismtrash likr Uncharted and TLoU
I will never forgive Naughty Dog

ironic you say that when that's unironically what it tried to be but failed miserably

But it didn't try to be CoD you fucking retard, it tried to be GTA

2 was great and so was 3

yall niggas are trippin. jak was fucking fire

I like the Jak series alot but i do prefer Ratchet and Sly Cooper to it

Is he transitioning into Duke Nukem?

Ratchet > Jak > Sly

>Seething over Jak
Lmao

not in that sense, actual retard
like CoD It was always aiming for the broadest audience possible (and failing miserably)

I'm laughing at it, it's so fucking trash, I feel sorry for the kids that got this and now they feel to defend it

Naughty Dog really were and still are absolute masters at presentation though. Jak and Daxter's interconnected world was incredible. Jak 2 might be, among technically polished experiences, one of the worst games I've ever played. Just pure misery from start to finish. I do admire that such a mainstream game post-SNES era was that tough though. By Jak 3 I was definitely over this reliance on set pieces and felt ND's weaknesses in making legitimately good gameplay and level design were starting to rise to the surface.

It's ok, all three of them are still good games, i just like Sly's characters more than Jak's even if that sounds extremely furry

All of them are good
1 is my favourite game of all time and perfected the scrimblo collectaton with its amazing movement and pace
2 is a great way to move the same interesting unvierse into the future, with gun play moving into movement and fun writing in a cool world
3 exapnded on that with more guns, not as good a story but a great feel of adventure
X is cool

you motherfuckers all got filtered and are trying to act 2cool4skool in modern Any Forums saying 00s edge bad

I liked the Jak Trilogy. It was peak Naughty Dog

I love the Jak series but i somehow feel like 2 was the start of Naughty Dog becoming Modern Naughty Dog, while both 2 and 3 are really good and fun games you can already see their mentality changing in "we don't want to make games for stupid little babies anymore, now we want death and violence!", after some years that became Uncharted which also turned into The Last of Us, and also the shit stain that is The Last of Us 2.

So which 90s/00s mascot 3-D platformer was this meant to compete with?

They were always the kind of company that chased trends so it really didn't matter what was popular so long as it could make money. Crash owes his existence to Sonic. Jak owes his existence to Banjo and DK64. It goes on and on.

>there are people who unironically believe this

>Nobody remembers Frontier
Thank God, that game was such fucking trash

Speaking of "attempt at a series"
Was Tak and the Power of Juju actually a successful franchise?

People just try to not think about it

I hope you get to play a second video game some day. Unless you're retarded that's the only way you could think Jak 2 is bad.

As usual OP is a jaded faggot

1 is a great colectathon platformer
2 is babys first gta with platforming but in a good way. If it only had better checkpoints it would be great
3 is allright, fixes the checkpoint issue but never felt like it lived up to 1 and 2

as for X i remember enjoying my time with it, but ive not touched that one for quite some time

>sees pic to the left
>sees pic to the right

HOLY FUCK WHAT DID SHE DO TO DAXTER?

Going Commando > RnC = Jak 1 >= Jak 3 > Jak 2 = Up Your Arsenal

The only thing I would consider changing here is maybe moving Jak 3 ahead of RnC/Jak 1. Jak 2 isn't that low because it was bad, just that they did much better to refine the format in J3. However, Up Your Arsenal is at the bottom because it was not good. I did not like it when it launched, I did not like it when I replayed it, Insomniac didn't even have faith in it doing well and they expressed that through their interviews. I don't shame people for liking it, but all signs pointed towards it being a stinker.

But Uncharted was the best post-Jason Rubin game from ND.

Rubin left after Jak 3, BTW.

Gavin left after Uncharted 1, which is probably why Uncharted 1 still had some of the old ND magic but didn't fully go into motion capture bullshit yet.

Played 1 and 2 recently. I though 1 was a nice, simple 3d platformer with goods controls and appealing levels. The whiplash of Jak 2 immediately having Jak be tortured in prison for years and then turning into a shitty open world game was wild.
Is Jak 2 actually good? I played until I got the hoverboard and then I just stopped playing. Should I give it another try?
One weird thing I liked was that accessing the map was very slow so it incentivized me to actually learn the layout of the city.

I really thought Jak 2 was the best of the series. The first one was Scrimblo as fuck, great when the current generation were still young.
Having the sequel mature with the audience at the time was a good idea

Maybe if they didn't go ow the edge in the second game.
